Technological Advances/Upgrades we need on our phones
I have, on occasions, often been stuck in a technological upgrade on my cellular device in such a way that it has made me think, “Wait! I'm sure a lot of people face this problem. Why don’t developers and manufacturers just…….” So here is a list of things I think deserve to be improved.
Fingerprint scanner
We’ll start with the basics but an important upgrade at that. It may
be a local problem but every time, I buy a new phone, the fingerprint lock
works perfectly, but once it gets a few months old, the fingerprint lock stops working and I have resort to entering the pin every time I have an emergency, and viola, thus begins the fight between my phone and me of who is going to give up first.
Ads on social media
I'm sure this sounds like a complaint but isn’t necessarily. Sometimes, I like a few ads on social media and because they are based on the fact that most people find them disruptive and unnecessary, there is no way to seek or fast backward the ad on the spot. Links take you to the product website or a different call to action. But if I want to read something illegible or just happens to be in small font, I’ll just have to wait till the ad comes back again. Often, when an ad is actually good, it doesn’t play often either.
Olfactory device
Being an avid food lover, I watch recipes a lot. Sometimes,
when I come across something new, I often wish I could smell it before recreating the recipe at home,
which is where I think a device or an attachment (of some sort) to our mobile devices could be
useful. This unnamed device which dissipates scent of the video in my side of space and air could change the world in a lot of ways.
Emoji
We have a ton of emojis in our keyboard and while most go by
unused due to their trend-based usage I would still like to see different emojis and mostly positive ones, where one
leans on one’s elbow to show they are interested in the other person’s story
and few more like that. Another add-on could be adding a few Indian food
emojis in the food section would also be beneficial. I say this because most cuisines are represented except South Asian and South East Asian ones.
Music Playback
This may be more personal but I wish writers could add music
that plays in the background of blog posts and blogs that suited its vibe.
Built in converters
Phones have made massive improvements when it comes to cameras and image resolution. Every new phone launch is based on it's camera sellout-ness and efficiency but what would be revolutionary if they came in with built in
converters like word to pdf, pdf to image, image to pdf converters etc.
The last improvement/advancement I could think of came to me
late at night, one time, when I couldn't sleep at 3am. In this train of thought, I wished that brands build ads specifically for
micro influencers to give them a code of some sort for their products listed on website to see who were the real influencers on the internet. Like, for
example, if you use the code “HappyHormones10” on Amrutam’s products, you’ll
get a 10% off on their website. But when I woke the next day and thought of the
idea, I realized that brands already do that on Instagram and Facebook and all
over social media in general, so it wasn't that revolutionary.
